Sheikh Zayed Road (SZR) is the main arterial road in Dubai, and the longest road in the UAE, which connects the seven emirates. It’s commonly known as the E11 highway and measures 558.4 km long. SZR is home to various high-rise buildings that are characteristic of Dubai's skyline.

Construction of Sheikh Zayed Road began in 1971 and was completed in 1980. It’s named after the founder and former president of the UAE Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. The highway starts in the Al Dhafra region of Abu Dhabi on the Saudi-UAE Border and ends at the Oman-UAE border in Al-Jeer, Ras al-Khaimah. 


In Dubai, Sheikh Zayed Road starts near Oud Metha and ends at Jebel Ali close to the Dubai-Abu Dhabi border. It runs parallel to the coastline and across key areas and landmarks such as Burj Khalifa, Emirates Towers, Dubai World Trade Center, and Business Bay.
